Gambling and casinos in our country have been governed through The Public Gambling Act, 1867. The act is considered as central legislation. Although timely there are amendments which are been made in most of our central act but if we consider this particular act then the act is old over 150 years and there are no special amendments made in it till the time. The biggest surprise is that there is no mention of it being done in the act with respect to online gambling and casino games. Although as per this act if a person visits a common gaming house or runs such gaming house then he is punishable under an offence governed under this act.
One more thing mentioned under this act is game of chance and game of skill and therefore playing of game of skill is allowed whereas as game of chance is considered illegal in our country.
